Many a guest may find himself in a situation during his holiday, of wanting to explore Bavaria without precisely knowing what or where to go. With this book handy, there won't be any problem of this kind, for here are hundreds of leisure-time tips from all over Germany's southermost state gathered together: museums which are real fun, original theatres or plays, restaurants with extraordinary ambience, choice markets with regional specialties, fiestas and celebrations one should not miss, or discos, which are "a must ". Regarding the choice of suggestions, particular emphasis was put on originality. The attraction of the unconspicous or unknown was decisive. The tips are arranged according to regions: the eight most im-portant cities - Würzburg, Bayreuth, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Augsburg, Kempten, Munich, and Passau - and their surroundings. In each of the eight chapters the first part is dedicated to the town itself, the second part leads into the surrounding countryside. In both parts the structure of is maintained to facilitate orientation within the chapter: they comprise "city life", recommendations for "shopping and sightseeing", "events", "fiestas and celebrations", "highlights from kitchen and cellar" and "tips for excursions into nature", "sporting activities", and "Bavarian traditions", up to attractions "all round the family and child." Each tip contains exact and worthwhile information and those who want to know more, can get further information from the indicated telephone numbers and contacts.
